I think Ashcroft vs. Raich will go down as a landmark case in the loss of federalism

Baseball fans, what's the all time greatest Twins team? My personal opinion is that it's a near tie between the 1987 Twins and the 2006 Twins, but I go with this year's Twins team, especially with them coming from 12 1/2 games back to being inside of 1 game for the Division Championship.

A very interesting supposition on the case of the teacher, "free/protected speech", etc. Given the ACLU's current political outlook, if I happened to be a teacher in the current public-school system (and I am thankful that I am not), and wanted to look for gainful employ elsewhere, Scopes-style, I would, in fact, lead prayers in class and then claim "free exercise of religion" as protected by the First Amendment, asking the ACLU to take my case if I faced criminal charges.

The reaction would be interesting to say the least. If nothing else, it would serve to illustrate further what the lines are in the United States regarding the First Amendment and where they apply.

And I hesitate to pass judgement on the Twins this year, since the season's almost done, but not quite; there's a vstrong case to be made for the '06 team, but both World Series teams have the rings to back them up, and memorable moments to boot.

Santana for the Cy Young, Morneau for MVP, Punto and Bartlett for Gold Gloves. Of course, I'm biased.
